The Sassy Farmer believes that buying local strengthens our Niagara and Orleans County farms and artisans thus preserving our strong Western New York agricultural and craftsmanship hertiage.   By buying locally grown produce and handicrafted goods, we are promoting envionmentally-friendly habits and providing our customers with the best that our region has to offer.    Plus, it simply tastes the best!

  • You are reducing your carbon footprint by buying local goods and  not goods that are shipped from the West Coast, Mexico or South  America (that is a lot of miles and a lot of fuel for produce that we grow right here...the average American meal travels about 1,500 miles before it goes into your mouth!!!)

 

  • You are reducing the use of plastic containers, plastic grocey and plastic produce bags.  We use a resuable plastic tote, canvas grocery bags and reusable produce containers.  (The majority of plastic bags and containers are petroleum-based and take hundreds of years to break down!)
